I am sure you'll notice the "test piece" missing :)
This was a norwegian coffee cake recipe with my mediterranean take on it for the filling which was chopped almonds, dried cherries, dried cranberries ,dried apricots(from egypt),dates pistachio nuts, almond paste, butter, brown sugar and cinnamon. You do the dough in 3 layers with the filling in between on a pizza pan. You then divide it into 16 wedges cutting only to the edge of the circle you have made in the middle. Then you twist each wedge 5 times, let it rise once more, brush with egg wash, sprinkle with some more filling mix and bake. While still warm melt some apricot jam and brush over the whole thing . It was pretty fun to make. It is a good thing all my family lives close because the test piece was all I could handle, toooo good!
Wishing you all a lovely Friday!

"A winter's day........"
I don't know about you but it takes me until about April to remember what year it is when signing stuff. As a nurse with all the documentation we have to do i screw up daily!! :) Has anyone used Freecycle??> OMG!! I have gotten the coolest stuff! A huge sack of 1940's and 50's cookbooks with a bunch of little pamphlet type ones for kids kids parties etc. Awesome offer. I will include the link. All you do is go to Yahoogroups.com then look up Freecycle and type in your county or city and you can access people who want to get rid of stuff for free and you in turn can post your free stuff. I have gotten 2 brand new printers/scanners and dog stuff. Very cool recycling on a personal level.
It is rainy yuk out so no new photos to post. I have 3 days off and hope to finally shake "The Cold that would not leave" .
Have a marvelous day which ever one you are reading this on :)

Getting my bearings after the holidays
I am glad Oprah has realized her humanity and even with personal trainers and private chefs we all screw ourselves up and can start over again anytime we decide. No harm no foul except maybe to out pride which is what? False? anyway.
I love to cook so now my focus is to create amazing food that nurtures my soul and feeds my body (just enough :))
So stay tuned. This blog will be a testament to my divinity and humanity. Love and good wishes for the coming year!
